Apr 27 - Small Boats Marina Inauguration – Licudi: Project Opens Up Access To The Sea For The Whole Community
Exactly two years after construction started, the 700-berth Mid Harbour Small Boat marina was officially inaugurated yesterday afternoon. Minister Gilbert Licudi called it the completion of one of the Government’s “landmark projects.”
Mr Licudi said the new facility, which can be used by boat owners as from Friday, would open up access to the sea for the entire community.
He added that the super yacht wharf would provide revenue and employment “for generations to come.”
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said the new marina was the largest one-off construction marine project of its kind in Europe for decades. "This is Gibraltar punching above its weight," he added.
