May 04 - In Loving Memory Launches Campaign On Cemetery Disrepair
New petition offers the public a platform to press government for action on appalling state of the cemetery.
Campaign group, In Loving Memory, have so far delivered by email over 500 signed letters petitioning the Chief Minister to review the maintenance of the cemetery.
Despite there being a team of people tasked with the maintenance of the cemetery, the group says it has gradually fallen into a sad state of disrepair with neglect evident everywhere you look.
In Loving Memory's spokesperson Eliza Victor said: "In Loving Memory is calling on Government to step up and support the petition now.
"It’s time we provided a comforting resting place for our dearly departed."
She adds that Leader of the Opposition Daniel Feetham has already supported the petition noting that it is a worthy cause but hopes that this will attract cross party support.
