May 06 - Ocean Endeavour Pays Her Inaugural Visit

MS Ocean Endeavour, a Dmitry Shostakovich-class ferry cruise ship, has made its inaugural call to Gibraltar yesterday.

Built in a Polish shipyard in 1981, the vessel has been part of the Fleet Pro Passenger cruise firm since 2014. It has a gross tonnage of 12,907 tonnes, a length of 137.6 metres, capacity for 450 passengers and a crew of 100.

The Minister for Tourism Samantha Sacramento said: “We are pleased that the port of Gibraltar will be hosting another inaugural cruise visit and that Main Street and commercial outlets generally will benefit from this trade. The cruise industry in Gibraltar has grown exponentially under our administration and we have been able to bring in the regular business of some of the most important and prestigious cruise lines in the world. We look forward to a period of heightened activity at the port through the summer months, as has been the case in recent years. We are confident that the current bumper season will further cement the Rock’s growing international reputation as a leading cruise port of call in the region.”
