May 08 – Royal Gibraltar Regiment Soldier Dies In Wales

A Royal Gibraltar Regiment soldier has died in Brecon, Wales. The man, believed to be in his early twenties, was found unconscious close to an army barracks.  Royal Gibraltar Regiment soldiers regularly attend the Infantry Battle School in Brecon.

According to UK press reports, he was pronounced dead by medics while on the way to hospital.

Police report that he was “unconscious and injured” but have been unable so far to determine the cause of death.

Sky News quotes a Ministry of Defence spokesperson as saying: "It is with great sadness and regret that the MoD can confirm a soldier from The Royal Gibraltar Regiment died in Brecon in the early hours of this morning.”

YGTV understands that the soldier's family has been informed.
