May 25 – Notre Dame Holds Disability Awareness Assembly
Notre Dame School held a Disability Awareness assembly last Friday. Guest speakers Eric Rowbottom and Manar Ben Tahayekt (a staff member at the Department of Education) delivered short presentations and answered questions from the children who took to the event and were very interested in finding out more about what it means to live with a disability.
Minister Sacramento praised the event: "The organised assembly is a part of a multi-agency approach to Government's strategy of disability awareness. I am grateful to Manar and Eric in assisting us by raising awareness of what people with disabilities can accomplish and demonstrating that a disability ought not be a barrier to success and how we should focus on promoting people's abilities and not perceived disabilities."
