Oct 28 - ERG Celebrates The Late David Hoare
The Equality Rights Group (ERG) has paid tribute to the broadcaster David Hoare who passed away yesterday.
A statement from the group continued: “At the same time as we grieve, along with the community of Gibraltar, for the passing of the wonderful human being and warm and special friend, David Hoare was; and as we also accompany his nearest and dearest at this difficult time, ERG celebrates the kindness, the humour, and the open warmth that was David and the gift of his life.
“He gave of his time and his warmth freely and generously. Indeed, he worked along with ERG to produce and present a video for the very first Holocaust Memorial Day
“We are sure that, as a Christian, David would have wanted us to give thanks and celebrate at this precise moment. And, though surely, David Hoare will indeed be painfully missed by all of us in Gibraltar, believers and non-believers alike, for the everyday way he exemplified all the values he so sincerely and so fervently believed in as a practising Christian, we are also deeply grateful for having shared the same time and the same space in which he so generously and openly loved humankind.
“We at ERG salute you, David, and thank you – always! Few indeed are they who are so greatly and so genuinely loved!” the statement ended.
