Apr 16 - Restricted Access to St. Bernard’s Hospital Basement

hospital Works to the new Catering Facility at St. Bernard’s Hospital will soon be moving towards the reinforcement of the foundations, meaning that all access to and from the hospital will have to be done via the Main entrance. The Hospital basement will be restricted to only allow access to authories vehicles.

Security and traffic management arrangements shall be maintained throughout the programme of works that is envisaged to take approximately 12 weeks.

During this time the GHA has made alternative arrangements for services as follows:

1. For patients who collect their prescribed incontinence products.

The dispensing of incontinence products shall be carried out from a temporary portacabin located at the bottom of the ramp access at St. Bernard’s Hospital and shall be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 2pm. For more information contact the General Supplies Store on Tel: 20007010

2. For Chapel users.

It has been agreed with Chapel users to close the Chapel for the duration of the works.

3.Wheel chair users.

Wheelchair users requiring access to the hospital can request assistance from the security guard on duty at the entrance to the basement.

4. Disabled Parking users.

There is a limited amount of Disabled Parking Bays in the basement for Blue Badge holders. The Blue Badge must be clearly displayed at all times. Note that access may be restricted whilst works are taking place.

The closure of the basement will become effective as of Tuesday 22nd April 2014.
