Aug 29 - Care Agency Elderly Residents Visit The Gibraltar Fair

The annual visit to the fair for residents of the Care Agency Residential Services is proving ever more popular as the years go by. The evening consists of a stroll around the fair and the participation in some of the traditional fairground attractions. Residents are entertained whilst taking supper at the Family Pavilion and the evening is rounded off with hot chocolate and churros.

The Friends of Mount Alvernia have once again supported residents of Mount Alvernia and in conjunction with the Care Agency’s activities team have facilitated two outings for 65 residents.

This year has seen the introduction of outings organised by the Care Agency’s activities team for the residents of both Calpe Ward and John Cochrane Ward and the recently opened John Mackintosh Wing. The Care Agency says it is delighted to confirm that a total of 92 elderly residents enjoyed a visit to the fair this year.

The Care Agency says it is grateful to Stage One productions whose generosity was kindly been extended to every one of the 92 residents and their escorts.

Minister for the Elderly, Samantha Sacramento, who joined a group of residents last night, said: “I am delighted that the Care Agency’s Elderly Residential Services management team have organised various visits to the fair thereby allowing the residents to enjoy the fair and socialise with the rest of the community, the residents clearly enjoyed themselves tremendously. My thanks go to the Friends of Mount Alvernia for their assistance and unwavering support and of course the Care agency staff involved in making this a success.”
