Dec 19 - RG Soldiers Awarded Long Service and Good Conduct Medals

wo mifsud Six soldiers from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment were recently presented with their Long Service and Good Conduct (LS & GC) Medals.  The LS & GC Medal is awarded to personnel who have demonstrated 15 years of exemplary and irreproachable conduct.

WO2 Daniel Mifsud joined the Royal Gibraltar Regiment in May 1993. On completion of his Recruit Basic Training he joined G Company as an infantryman. WO2 Mifsud was appointed as the Regimental Careers Management Officer in January 2014.

WO2 Thorne joined the Royal Gibraltar Regiment in January 1999 as an infantryman. Throughout his career, he has risen through the infantry chain of command. He has been employed as a Section Commander and latterly  Platoon Sgt. In 2013 he was promoted to WO2 assuming the appointment of Regimental Recruitment and Training Warrant Officer.

CSgt Yeo joined the Regiment in September 1999 as an Infantry Soldier. As a private soldier he served in G Company as a riffle man  After three demanding years as Documents Supervisor he was selected for promotion to CSgt in June this year and is currently the Staff Support Assistant within Regimental Headquarters.

Sgt Baggaley began his career in the Army on 08 Mar 1999 as a member of the Adjutant General Corps. During the early years of his service Sgt Baggaley joined the 12 Regt RA Boxing team, representing them on a few occasions, including his entry into the Army Notice championships in Aldershot.

Sgt Guilliano joined the Royal Gibraltar Regiment in May 1998 as an infantryman. Throughout his career, he has risen through the infantry chain of command.. He is currently the CQMS in the Signals Wing, shortly after taking this position Sgt Guilliano was awarded a CBF commendation as recognition of his hard work within the role.

Sgt Smith joined the Royal Gibraltar Regiment in February 1999.  As a private soldier he served as a riffle man within a platoon section until 2003. Sgt Smith has deployed on overseas exercises such as Ex Hercules Pillar in Cyprus and as well as numerous UK and Morocco Exercises where his Arabic language skills have been a real asset and he was subsequently awarded the Governors badge of honour for his work liaising between the Moroccan army and the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.
