June 02 - Peace Vigil Next Week
A Peace Vigil will be held on Wednesday 10th June for religious freedom, persecuted Christians and missions everywhere, at the Cathedral of St. Mary the Crowned, at 8.30pm.
During the course of the evening special World Mission Rosary prayers will be said for every continent of the world and representatives of all countries are invited to come along and light a candle for those who suffer on their continent.
The vigil will focus particularly on the men, women and children who are imprisoned, condemned and even killed for the simple reason that they are believers or are engaged in promoting justice and peace. The gathering will be praying that the right to religious freedom is spread throughout the world.
There will be a programme of music from Medjugore in many different languages.
After the lighting of candles for all continents, there will also be time for silent prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The evening is free to all, and the organisers are hoping to encourage participation from as many people regardless of their faith.
