Sep 01 - Gibraltar FSC Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With British Virgin Islands FSC

The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission is delighted to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission, in July.

These Authorities express, through the MoU, their willingness to cooperate in the interest of achieving their aims as regulators. They agree to assist each other in order to ensure stakeholder and public protection and to develop market and financial integrity.

Commenting on the MoU, Samantha Barrass, Gibraltar FSC CEO, stated: “The signing of this MoU is significant for us. It serves to enhance our commitment to establish international relationships with other supervisory organisations, in order to support and strengthen our regulatory work."

The Gibraltar FSC is committed to developing its cooperation and information exchange with other jurisdictions through the establishment of MoUs.  It has signed a number of MoUs to date with a number of regulators and some public bodies, and continues to seek to put in place arrangements for co-operation with counterparts in other jurisdictions.
