Oct 10 - Figueras And Perez Return To ThunderCat Action For Catalan Bay Race
Leslie Figueras and Albert Perez successfully competed in the 2014 British National ThunderCat Championship and capped that year off nicely with a third place in the European Championships.
Figueras commented: ‘We would have loved to continue racing in Britain but just didn’t have the finance to make the trips over there and race our ThunderCat’.
With Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2016 Microlink ThunderCat Championship to be held this weekend at Catalan Bay, it gives Figueras and Perez the perfect opportunity to return to action.
‘We can’t challenge this season but we will certainly be mixing it with the Championship hopefuls, Microlink-Ahmad Tea and Multispark Racing 61’, Figueras continued.
ThunderCat Racing organiser Fiona Pascoe said:
‘It’s exciting to be returning to the Rock, it will be the first time we have raced at the beautiful Catalan Bay’.
‘Our last event at Clevedon on the Bristol Channel had thousands of spectators and we look forward to entertaining the local people of Gibraltar this weekend’.
Racing will commence at midday on both this Saturday and Sunday, (15th and 16th October).
The Event has been supported by Visit Gibraltar, Gibraltar Tourist Board, Gibraltar Port Authority, Clan Fuel and Team Britannia.
