Mar 05 – Minister Linares Wishes Rugby And Netball Teams All The Best Ahead Of This Weekend’s Games
In anticipation of the Gibraltar Rugby Football Union’s Friendly International against Malta this Saturday 7th March, the Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, would like to take this opportunity to wish the team all the best in their attempts to extend their home winning streak. In addition, a warm welcome is extended to Malta, a country with which Gibraltar has close historical and social ties. The match will take place at the Victoria Stadium at 5pm.
Minister Linares also extends his support and best wishes to the Gibraltar Netball U17 squad who will this weekend be participating in European Netball Under 17 Championships held in Hull, United Kingdom. The Minister says he has no doubt that the squad will represent Gibraltar admirably when facing tough opposition from Dubai, Malta and Switzerland respectively. The Championships, he says, will provide valuable experience in a tournament that Gibraltar will be hosting in 2016.
