Members of the Dolphin Youth Club and Youth Centre held a bake sale and hamper raffle event on Saturday 11th February at John Mackintosh Square. The aim of the event was to raise money for the clubs’ programmes, which include outings and trips abroad.
In addition to the cake sale, a £400 hamper was raffled containing food, drinks, items donated by members of clubs and gifts donated by local businesses. The hamper was won by ticket number 666 and was delivered to the winner on the day.
The Dolphins Youth Club also recently took part in a n Upper Rock Outing. The group decided to walk along Royal Anglian Way where they had a chance to see both Rooke and Haynes Batteries and the old support facilities, including the derelict kitchen. Their walk along the path disturbed some wild goats and Barbary Partridges taking cover from the rain under the bushes. The group also visited St. Michael’s Cave and some of the members expressed an interest in visiting Lower St. Michael’s Cave in the future.
The outing gave both the youngsters and Youth Workers a chance to work together as a group and learn more about each other.
