Oct 17 - Jazz Festival Leads Autumn Events Led Tourism Programme With an Explosive Line Up

With Gibraltar’s Tourist season slowly winding into it’s low season, yesterday’s launch of the second Gibraltar International Jazz Festival hopes to reel in further outsiders to Gibraltar, for an extended weekend of jazz music at the recently renovated Queen’s Theatre. In an attempt to up the ante following last year’s inaugural Jazz festival, the line up has seen the addition of well loved television presenter and jazz man, Jools Holland and former Spice girl, Mel C to this year’s line up.

Oct 17 New Environmentally Friendly G1

Tesla 3 S Her Majesty's Government of Gibraltar has now taken delivery of a replacement G1 vehicle.

The vehicle is a Tesla Signature Model S imported from California by Bassadone Motors.

The Tesla is an entirely electric vehicle and its acquisition is part of the Government's programme to replace its vehicle fleet with more environmentally friendly vehicles. The Tesla vehicle does not produce any emissions whatsoever when driven. It requires charging from the electricity grid.

Oct 17 Local Charged for Drugs Possession

Gibraltar Drugs Charges In the afternoon of Wednesday 16 October 2013 officers of the RGP Drug Squad stopped for the purpose of searching under the Crimes Act(Drugs Misuse) Edson CAETANO d.o.b. 06/11/80 of Castle Road. On being searched approximately 2.5 grams of Herbal Cannabis was found he was therefore arrested on suspicion of being in Possession of a Controlled Drug.

A search warrant was then executed at CAETANO’s residence where a further amount of Herbal Cannabis, a small piece of Cannabis Resin and items associated with the supply of drugs were found.
