Below follows a joint statement on the progress of the EU-UK Agreement in respect of Gibraltar:
European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo met in Brussels on Friday 12 April.

Featuring on CNBC Asia’s Capital Connection business news programme, during his time in China this week, Financial Services and Gaming Minister Albert Isola discussed Gibraltar’s Finance’s aim of putting across the ‘advantages of accessing Europe through Gibraltar’ to the Greater China Business market. He touched upon Gibraltar’s status as a EU jurisdiction, allowing for access ‘to passporting through the European Union’.
The Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce has, in consultation with employment law experts recently completed a detailed and extensive review of current Gibraltar employment legislation. Many parts of the local employment legislation are outdated, according to the Chamber, and modern business practices have changed considerably since some of the original legislation was introduced many years ago, and in some cases, several decades ago.
