The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
A traditional feature of the annual Gibraltar Day in London Celebrations is the Sunday mass, held at Our Lady of Dolours Servite Church on Fulham Road. This year’s service was particularly special with former Bishop of Gibraltar, the Rt Rev. Ralph Heskett C.Ss.R now Bishop of Hallam, presiding over the service.
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission ("FSC") has welcomed the new Standard of Regulation that has been issued by the Group of International Finance Centre Supervisors ("GIFCS").
Some 40 members of the Gibraltar Emergency Services recently attended a two day workshop run by the UK Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB), supported by representatives from the equivalent Military Organisation. The workshop provided refresher training to those attending and reinforced the original training on the same subject that was given in September 2009.
