Oct 14 - Government Condemns ‘Threats’ to Chief Minister

cm picardoWith recent Spanish articles targeting Chief Minister Fabian Picardo directly, the Gibraltar Government has today condemned allegations contained in an article by Spanish on-line newspaper ‘El Confidencial’ detailing that the Spanish secret services have been following Mr. Picardo’s footsteps.

A statement released by No. 6 insists that these details ‘could possibly explain a number of peculiar coincidences that have manifested themselves recently.’ Regarding these ‘coincidences’ a No.6 spokesperson explained that he could not comment on them due to the on-going investigation into Spanish incitement of hate, being carried out by a Government commissioned legal team.

Oct 14 - RGP Children’s Camp

Following the success of the Summer Camp the RGP will again provide a week for children aged between 8-10 to experience the police.  The camp will take place from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November 2013.  Days will start at 0900hrs and end at 1230hrs, at the Neighbourhood Policing Compound.

Oct 14 - UK Conservative MP to Table Commons Bill Protecting Gibraltar Waters

bunkering UK Conservative MP David Morris is set to table a Bill in UK Parliament, defining Gibraltar’s territorial waters in UK law, guaranteeing the Rock further support from the UK, at sea.

Mr. Morris visited Gibraltar during National Day and this weekend told the Sun, ‘ there is no use falling out over it. Spain is not taking it back.’ The Bill is will also set out to enshrine a right for Gibraltar to require the UK to provide whatever Coast Guard support is needed.
