Below follows a joint statement on the progress of the EU-UK Agreement in respect of Gibraltar:
European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo met in Brussels on Friday 12 April.
The summer months traditionally see an increase in particular types of crime such as Residential Burglary and Theft (eg pick-pocketing, theft of bicycles, vehicle contents and personal property at beaches/pools). This phenomenon is not exclusive to Gibraltar.
The GSD has today challenged Government to publish in full any documents it claims to have received from HSL in relation to the use and storage of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Gibraltar. The party says it is “unacceptable” that in such an important debate the Government continues to provide only “isolated and unverifiable quotes” from documents it claims to have received but does not publish the document itself.
The Government believes the Lloyd’s Register report was based on false information provided by the Spark Group of Companies and the GSD, and that the Leader of the Opposition’s deception of the people of Gibraltarian is unprecedented.
