Officers from the RGP Operations Division currently investigating recent instances of Violence and Anti-Social Behaviour in the area of Glacis Estate have carried out several arrests. These follow an incident of Violent Disorder at Glacis Estate last Friday, where seven individuals were arrested by RGP Response Team officers and where bladed weapons were seized.
Trustee of the PJI Foundation, Peter Isola, and Genevieve Bossino, a member of the team at the firm ISOLAS responsible for the organisation and delivery, with others, of initiatives to raise funds for the Foundation, recently paid a visit to the new Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Day Care Centre to see for themselves the progress of works to complete the facility. Due to open by the summer, the Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society (‘GADS’) has been committed to raising funds for the project and has so far raised over £100,000 with the help of the local business and wider community. Its work is, however, far from over in this respect.
The Miss Gibraltar Office, at the request of the Pageant Organisers Santos Productions, will be extending the closing date for prospective contestants who wish to sign up for this year’s Miss Gibraltar Pageant. The reason for the extension is because the organisers feel it will be a better show should more contestants sign on.
Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s national airline, will commence its new air service linking the cities of Tangier and Casablanca with Gibraltar on Sunday 29th March. The route will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
The GSD has said that the latest Motion to be moved in Parliament by the Chief Minister against the Leader of the Opposition “shows the extent to which the Government is trying to bury any debate on the Dr Giraldi Home.”
