Mr Speaker, this is my first Budget address as Minister for Business, Tourism and the Port. I feel immensely proud to deliver my maiden Budget address today and in particular, it is a huge honour and privilege to be able to represent our fellow Gibraltarians in the affairs of Government.
The Government says that it has prepared Gibraltar’s public beaches to be as safe as physically possible, with the deployment of the jellyfish nets representing an important part of the operation, especially since these, now prominent features at bathing areas, were not present last year due to the Covid- 19 Pandemic restrictions in place.
The Government has welcomed the “very clear position” on the EU negotiating mandate set out by the Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, at his first meeting with the new Spanish Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares. The Government has also welcomed the Spanish Foreign Minister’s remarks committing to the New Year’s Eve Agreement.
The Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, recently visited the Chus Mateo Academy Basketball Camp.
