Gibraltar Finance CentreMinister for Financial Services Announces the Employment of Two Further Senior Executives to develop the Financial Services Sector

HM Government of Gibraltar is delighted to announce that two further senior executives have been engaged to promote Gibraltar's Financial Services sector. Victor Galliano will be based at Gibraltar House in London working on the continued promotion of Gibraltar in the United Kingdom within the Financial Services industry, and Philip Canessa will be based in Gibraltar working exclusively with the promotion of Funds and Investment Services. Both Messrs Galliano and Canessa have extensive experience and expertise in their respective areas. The appointments are a further indication of the commitment of this Government to the Sector, and to making the investment necessary to properly equip the Finance Centre team with the resources they require and which the Industry has been calling for over the past years.

Aug 18 GOVERNMENT PRAISES MARITIME AGENCIES

Spanish Fishermen Protest in GibraltarHer Majesty's Government of Gibraltar wishes to acknowledge the excellent work of the Royal Gibraltar Police in dealing professionally and calmly with the demonstration held by Spanish fishermen from the Cofradias in La Linea and Algeciras.

HMGoG is also grateful for the work done in support of the RGP by HM Customs, officers of the Gibraltar Defence Police and the Port Authority, as well as that done by members of the Royal Navy.

The RGP has communicated to HMGoG that the Guardia Civil presence was, throughout the event, very much in co-ordination with them in order to ensure that the protest passed without incident.
