Jul 18 - RAOB Charity Cardboard Boat Race
An afternoon filled with fun and laughter is guaranteed at the annual charity cardboard boat race held once again this year.
This year, the William Tilley Lodge and Ocean Village will hold the RAOB Cardboard Boat Race on Saturday 19th August.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “We invite entrants to build & enter their own craft, the wackier the better!
“A perfect opportunity to build team spirit, help local charities & have great fun into the bargain.
“Why not enter your team, choose your theme, make your boat, as big or small as you like, press-gang some crew-mates & take to the water to help make this the biggest Boat Race ever.
“We invite corporate teams, sports teams, families, associations & any other group of friends or workmates who are up for a bit of a laugh, but also have that competitive spark.”

The event will be led by Frankie Hatton and the judges for this year’s event are the newly crowned Miss Gibraltar Jodie Garcia, Emilia Hazelsmith and Roy Walker.
Raffle tickets will be on sale ahead of the event and are available to purchase at Beacon Press and on the website. Money raised at this year’s event will go towards the Gibraltar Society For The Visually Impaired and the GBC Open Day Appeal.
