Dec 24 - Rotary Club Charity Santa Conga

santa congaLast Friday The Rotary Club of Gibraltar together with nearly 250  members of the public launched an attempt to gain entry in the Guinness Book of Records. It was for a new category in the book that has not appeared before now.

The seasonal event consisted of an extended Conga line of adults and children dancing in Casemates in Santa Claus costumes. The gathering aimed to set the standard for this new Guinness category. This charity-raising performance was very popular with the public who were extremely generous with their donations, which will be passed on to local charities.

Rotary has started the process of applying for recognition by Guinness and hopes for a positive result by the end of March. In the meantime, progress reports will be regularly uploaded to the Rotary Club of Gibraltar website and also the Club’s FaceBook page.
