Mar 23 - Almost £2000 Raised for Childline

childline Members of the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess in Devils Tower Camp have raised over £1800, through a number of charity events, in aid of Childline Gibraltar. The charity recently raised further awareness and funds through their annual Blue Week, which endeavours to spread the message of what the charity does.

A cheque for £1069.19 was initially presented by WO1 ‘Mac’ McLoughlin. A further cheque for £766.68 was presented by Dylan Llamas from local supplier Saccone & Speed as money raised through a percentage of bar sales at the Mess.

Commenting on the impressive donation, Chairperson for the Board of Trustees Connie Attwood  explained that the charity relies heavily on voluntary donation ‘so this money will certainly be put to good use.’

The charity is currently in the process of setting up a ‘live chat’ facility and an adult service for adult victims of child abuse. Upcoming events include a children’s treasure hunt in April and their Flag Day on the 29th May.
