Saturday morning proved a productive and worthy early morning as an impressive group formed at the site of Gibraltar’s Pillar of Hercules, ahead of the 9am start of the Upper Rock Challenge, a 3-lap excursion of the Mediterranean Steps and the Upper Rock.
A young couple will take on the challenge of what is described as “the toughest footrace on Earth” next year as they head off to Morocco to compete in the Marathon des Sables for charity.
This weekend will play host to the 2014 Upper Rock Challenge. Individuals are being invited to walk the Mediterranean Steps trail three times in aid of local charity the Saffron Rose for Rett Charitable Trust and St. Martin’s School.
The RGP Charity Committee will be holding a BBQ/Treasure Hunt on the 12th September 2014. The Treasure Hunt will commence at 8pm at the International Police Association Club beside the Central Hall.
A fee of £10 per participant is required for this event that will take participants around Gibraltar. A vehicle per team is advisable. The event is being held in aid of Miss Gibraltar’s ‘Sky Jump’ in aid of charity that is due to be held later on this month.
Lady Dutton this morning presented a cheque for £150 to the Fine Arts Society from funds raised at the Convent Open Day.
