Local artist Mario Finlayson has donated one of his paintings from the “Rooftops” collection to the Miss Gibraltar Calpe House Appeal. The artwork is going out to public auction by sealed bids and has a reserve price of £2,000.
The Miss Gibraltar campaign in aid of the new Calpe House appeal got a welcome boost this weekend with a donation by McDonald's. The Gibraltar branch of the international chain presented a cheque for £1,000 to the contestants as a “contribution to their fantastic work in aid of this worthwhile charity”.
Childline Gibraltar will be hosting an information stall at the College of Further Education on Tuesday morning and at Bayside on Wednesday morning for Mental Health Week with the theme: “Relationships”. The Education Team have prepared leaflets aimed at educating the public on mental health issues particularly in children and young adults which focus on promoting better mental health. Childline says it encourages young people to have a chat and find out how they can help promote better mental health in and around the community.
Clubhouse Gibraltar are encouraging Schools, places of work and other groups to create mental health awareness by wearing yellow and raising funds for Clubhouse Gibraltar.
