Jul 28 - Seven Men Rescued From Sea

Seven undocumented men were rescued from the sea just off the Detached Mole by the Gibraltar Port’s pilot launch just after midnight.

The men are currently in police custody after receiving medical attention.

Authorities were alerted to their presence after a nearby vessel anchored in the Bay spotted the men floating in the water.

They were handed over to the Royal Gibraltar Police and enquiries are currently underway to confirm their identities and where they are from.

The men were arrested on suspicion of being non-Gibraltarians in Gibraltar without a valid permit.

It is yet unknown whether they are migrants or were aiming to reach Gibraltar or Spain.
