Dec 12 - Woman Accused Of Stealing Whisky Goes On Trial
A Supreme Court trial has started for a local woman accused of stealing £164 worth of whisky from Morrison’s Supermarket.
Lizanne Golt, 35, has pleaded not guilty to one count of theft, which dates back to July 2016.
It is alleged that Golt and her partner were spotted by a member of staff in the drinks aisle putting bottles of alcohol into a basket and then attempting to walk out without paying.
The jury heard evidence from witnesses including Morrison’s staff.
Prosecutor Kerrin Drago, defence counsel Simon Diable and Acting Puisne Judge Liam Yeats are expected to give their closing submissions tomorrow morning before the jury deliberate the verdict.
