Mar 20 - Hung Jury In Cannabis Trial

The jury in a Supreme Court cannabis trial was dismissed after failing to reach a majority verdict following almost two days of deliberation.

The jury was sent to reach a verdict after closing speeches were made yesterday morning and a verdict was expected at some point today.

Co-defendants George Key, Dylan Collado, Raul Aranzana Hernandez and Karl Gonzalez faced joint charges of one count of possession and one count of possession with intent to supply nearly 30kg of cannabis resin, worth an estimated £130,000.

Gonzalez was found guilty of an additional charge of dangerous driving, which he’ll be sentenced for at a later date.

The jury was dismissed this afternoon and the men will next appear at the Supreme Court on 26th April, when a new date for a trial will be set.
