Aug 13 - Two Men Arrested - One Man Charged With Threats To Kill

As a result of a CID Investigation into a report of threats to kill, detectives have arrested two local men.

Ernest Peralta, 30, and Dylan Leo Hayes, 33, were detained on Friday afternoon.

As Peralta was approached he was reportedly seen trying to dispose of a wrapper containing a powder suspected to be a controlled drug. The wrapper was seized and Peralta was arrested on suspicion of being possession a controlled drug.

After further enquiries and being interviewed by the investigating officers Peralta has been charged with:

  • 1x count of Threats to Kill 

  • 1x count of Obstructing Police (Drugs Misuse) 

  • 1x count of Possession of a Controlled Class A drug 
[approximately 29.3 grammes of a preparation containing 
Cocaine and Amphetamines] 

  • 1x count of Possession of a Controlled Class A drug with 
intent to supply [approximately 29.3 grammes of a preparation containing Cocaine and Amphetamines] 


Bail was denied and Peralta has been kept in Police custody pending his court appearance before the Magistrates' Court later today.

Hayes, who had been seen in the company of Peralta, with the latter alerting him to the presence of the officers, was stopped and on being searched was found in possession of a wrapper containing a powder suspected to be controlled drugs and a small piece of Cannabis Resin.

He was arrested for the offences and was subsequently interviewed at New Mole House.

He was later charged with: 


  • 1x count of Possession of a Controlled Class A drug [approximately 0.5grammes of a preparation containing Cocaine] 

  • 1x count of Possession of a Controlled Class B drug [approximately 3.1grammes of Cannabis Resin]

Hayes was granted Police Bail to appear before the Magistrates’ Court later today.
