Oct 29 - 39 Year Old Man Appears At Magistrates Court After New Harbours Robbery

The 39 year old local resident Algerian national was arrested by the RG Police on Friday 26th October and appeared before the Magistrates Court this morning.

Mourad Said faces charges of conspiracy to rob, robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon in connection with a break in at the New Harbours Industrial Estate last June.

He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at the Supreme Court on Friday 2nd November 2018.

Following the robbery, 1.5 million euros was reported stolen to the police. A Moroccan national was arrested in connection with the robbery and has been granted police bail pending further inquiries.

The RGP is continuing its investigation.
