Oct 15 RGP - Accident Witness Appeal
On Friday 11 October 2013 between 1820hrs and 1830hrs there was a fatal road traffic accident at Europa Advance Road involving the rider of a motorcycle namely a white in colour Yamaha X-Max. There were two other motorcyclists on their own motorcycles one was ahead of the Yamaha X-Max and the other behind. The three motorcycles were travelling in a direction towards Europa Point. They had just exited the Dudley Ward Way Tunnel and they were travelling at speed.
The collision happened just by the entrance to the Community Projects Buildings and the deceased namely Gareth John Collado crashed against some barriers in that location, receiving injuries to his head and neck. He was conveyed to St Bernard’s Hospital where despite treatment he passed away.
We are in the process of carrying out an investigation into the cause of the said collision and we are appealing to any person who might have witnessed the accident to contact Police Headquarters on telephone 20072500.
We are especially interested in the driver and/or occupants of a white Renault Cangoo Van with a roof rack which was in the vicinity at the time of the accident, it is extremely important that this person(s) contact the said number and speaks to us. A photograph of an identical car is attached.
