Jul 11 - Theft Conviction - Byrne
A twenty-nine year old local man has today been sentenced to sixteen months imprisonment after having entered guilty pleas at the Supreme Court.
Shaun Byrne of 16 Mimosa Lodge, Montagu Gardens, pleaded guilty to two charges of Theft and one of False Accounting. The charges relate to the theft of £15,850 after Byrne falsified the signatures on two cheques and forty-one cash withdrawal slips. False entries were also made in a reconciliation register to purport that the stolen monies had been paid to his employer’s clients.
