Two Spanish nationals, Francisco Cordero Perez from La Linea, aged 27 years and Abdel Gani Mohamed Mohamed from Ceuta, aged 33 years, together with a local man Paul David Martinez, aged 35 years were yesterday found guilty in the Magistrates Court for the offence Importing a Prohibited Import, namely an eight metre Vigilant Rigid Inflatable Vessel with two 225hp outboard engines.

The arrests happened on the 2nd of December 2011, when all three men where stopped on the vessel in the Bay of Gibraltar by Royal Gibraltar Police Marine Section Officers. All three men were fined for the offences, with both Mohamed Mohamed and Martinez receiving a £3000 fine each and the owner of the vessel Cordero Perez a £5000 fine. The vessel which has an approximate value of £60,000 was forfeited by the Stipendiary Magistrate. No separate penalty was applied to Cordero Perez for the offence of Operating a Fast Launch without a Licence.
