Aug 07 - Gib Registered Vehicle “Injures” Guardia Civil
Reports emerged yesterday evening that a Gibraltarian car laden with contraband tobacco injured a Guardia Civil officer at the frontier checkpoint.
According to europapress.es, the driver of the Gibraltar registered vehicle ignored orders to stop as he passed the customs zone. Apparently, the car sped off as the Spanish officer held on to its side and he was trailed along for several meters sustaining several injuries.
The car was later found abandoned nearby and a search was conducted during which several boxes of cigarettes were seized.
There has, as yet, been no official confirmation regarding these reports.
