Mar 30 – Van Gogh In Provence For Spring Festival

Group 2000, working alongside Gibraltar Cultural Services, will present a recital entitled ‘Van Gogh in Provence’ for this year’s Spring Festival.

Van Gogh spent twenty seven months in Arles and Saint–Remy, searching for the ‘Southern light’ which features prominently in his art. During this time he painted 350 works and produced some of his most memorable pieces, including Sunflowers.

The recital will take place on Thursday 25th May at the Charles Hunt Room, John Mackintosh Hall. The recital, which will feature Humbert Hernandez, will explore a number of paintings accompanied by readings of the numerous letters he wrote to his brother Theo during this time. The programme for this recital will offer a unique insight into the mind and musings of one of the world’s most celebrated artist and promises to be a captivating and entertaining evening for all.

Tickets priced at £3 will be on sale as from Tuesday 2nd May at the John Mackintosh Hall, accounts department, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4:30pm.
