Nov 08 - Gibraltar National Dance Team Presentation
A Dance Presentation was organised this weekend at the Central Hall by the Gibraltar National Dance Organisation. The presentation was a dress rehearsal used as a platform to present all the dance routines that will be performed by the official Gibraltar National Team at the forthcoming IDO World Show Dance Championships.
The Central Hall was packed to capacity with nearly 200 people supporting the dancers. The presentation gave the opportunity for the dancers and choreographers to showcase their work and give a good overall picture of the standards of dance achieved locally.
GNDO President Wendy Garro said at the end of the evening, ‘I would like to congratulate and thank everyone who made the presentation a reality especially the teachers, choreographers and dancers of the 2017 National Team. Also thank you to all the spectators that attended, and of course those entities that have made our participation at the World Championships a reality: Ministry of Culture, Gibraltar Cultural Services, Cultural Grants Committee, GSLA and all our sponsors.’
The National Team will for the next two weeks continue with training and rehearsals for the World Championships that are organised under the auspices of the World governing body the International Dance Organisation (IDO), in Riesa, Germany.
