Feb 23 - Drama Festival Programme Released

Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, has announced that this year’s Gibraltar Drama Festival will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th March.

All performances will take place at the Ince’s Hall.

A total of 10 plays will be presented as follows:

Tuesday 20th March 2018 – 7:00pm Ince’s Hall Theatre

Trafalgar Theatre Group presents: “How My Light Is Spent” a comedy/drama by Alan Harris (15+) 


GAMPA Teens presents: “Streuth”, a farce comedy by Michael Green (U) 


Wednesday 21st March 2018 – 7:00pm Ince’s Hall Theatre

GAMPA Infants presents: “The Brementown Rappers”, a fable adapted by Justin McCory Martin (U) 


GAMPA Juniors presents: “The History of the Entire World... in 20 minutes”, a comedy by Rod Martin (U) 


Bayside & Westside Drama Group presents: “La Calle Commedia”, an original comedy by Julian Felice (PG) 


Thursday 22nd March 2018 – 7:00pm Ince’s Hall Theatre

Bayside & Westside Drama Group presents: “Layla”, an original teenage drama by Julian Felice (15+) 


Trafalgar Theatre Group presents: “Exit Right, Running”, a comedy/drama by Tony Layton (PG) 


Friday 23rd March 2018 – 7:30pm Ince’s Hall Theatre

Medway Youth Theatre presents: “The Adventures of Polly”, an original drama by Maisy Crunden (U) 


GAMPA Senior presents: “I Am Me”, an original drama by Christian Santos (PG) 


Medway Youth Theatre presents: “Her Relationship with Depression”, an original drama 
by Mae Ballantyne (PG) 


Saturday 24th March 2018 – 7:30pm Ince’s Hall Theatre

GALA NIGHT – The Finals Night will include the top two or three plays and will include the winning play of the Festival, followed by the awards ceremony by the Minister for Culture, Steven Linares.

The Adjudicator will give a short delivery about each performance at the end of every session.

Tickets for the festival will be on sale on weekdays at the John Mackintosh Hall as from Wednesday 28th February 2018, between 9.30am and 4.30pm. During performance days, tickets will be on sale at the venue an hour before the session begins. Tickets are priced as follows:

  • Each Performance Session – £5.00 

  • Gala Night – £10.00 

  • Season Ticket - £ 25.00 

  • Student Season Ticket - £20
