Apr 05 - Miss Gibraltar Show “Unlikely” As Only Three Candidates Sign Up

Reports suggest that it is increasingly unlikely that there’ll be a traditional format Miss Gibraltar show this year after only three candidates signed up for the pageant.

A Government spokesperson said that a Miss Gibraltar will nevertheless be crowned and represent Gibraltar at Miss World but that the format for this process had yet to be decided:

“Following enquiries received from various mediums re the lack of contestants and this year’s Miss Gibraltar 2018 show, the Miss Gibraltar Office on behalf of the Ministry of Culture would like to inform the public that a Miss Gibraltar will be crowned to represent Gibraltar at the Miss World 2018 Pageant and throughout the year as is customary.

“Gibraltar Cultural Services will be meeting the three ladies that have signed for this year’s pageant together with the producer of the event early next week and will be in a position to announce the format of this year’s selection process shortly.”
