May 30 - GibTalks Online Archive Now Complete

Video recordings of all the talks from the first three editions of GibTalks (2015-2017) have now been uploaded to the event’s dedicated YouTube channel.

The collection features over fifty recordings, including contributions by two Chief Ministers, an Olympian, and four PhD holders, as well as a wide range of writers, artists, politicians, journalists, activists, and many more.

The talks see a broad spectrum of subjects discussed, with many intriguing ideas and experiences shared. The event is a one-day conference of talks delivered by Gibraltarians at the John Mackintosh Hall every February. It is organized by Gibraltar Cultural Services in collaboration with teacher and playwright Julian Felice.

The channel has already accrued over 1,200 views, with analytics revealing viewership from places such as Belgium and Australia. A featured video will be posted on GibTalk’s Facebook and Twitter accounts on a weekly basis, encouraging viewers to engage with the event by providing additional exposure for all the speakers. The archive also includes all of the Vox Pop talks, given by members of the community who apply for a randomly selected ten-minute slot in the programme. A full list of all videos is available on the channel, with interested users advised to search for ‘Gib Talks’ on YouTube and subscribe.

The 2018 edition of GibTalks will be added to the archive after it has been broadcast by GBC, who have provided all of the video footage. In the meantime, planning is already taking place for the next edition of the event, scheduled to take place on Saturday 2nd February at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre.
