July 01 - Sandé And Murs Will Top The Bill!

Ministry of Culture Press Release On Mega Festival

The Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce that Brit Award-winning Emeli Sandé will be headlining this year’s Gibraltar Music Festival. Olly Murs – one of the most successful pop stars of the past decade – will also be performing at the Victoria Stadium on Saturday 7th September 2013.

Two further international acts are already confirmed: Level 42, a band with a career spanning five decades, and La Oreja de Van Gogh, a Latin Grammy- winning and Grammy-nominated Spanish pop band. More international acts will be added to the bill in the coming weeks.

Once again, the event will feature local musicians. Local acts interested in taking part should register their interest immediately at: gibraltarmusicfestival.com

The Gibraltar Music Festival is a celebration of a successful people who know how to work hard and have fun. The first was delivered by Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar (HMGOG) in a matter of months and its commitment to an annual ‘Mega Concert’ has been widely embraced by Gibraltarians.

Designed to be a family and disability-friendly event during Gibraltar’s ‘National Week’ festivities, the Gibraltar Music Festival promises to once again create an atmosphere that impresses locals and visitors alike. After her memorable performance last year, Jessie J tweeted to 5.5 million followers: ‘Wow wow wow wow wow wow #Gibraltar’.

HMGOG has again placed its trust in Word of Mouth and Axle Media to produce this September’s event, which is already shaping up to be even bigger than last year’s. On Saturday the 7th of September, doors will open at 12:00, with food, drink and entertainment available throughout the day.

Children aged 12 and under will again be allowed free entry, if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. In keeping with the increased number of international acts, ticket prices start at £50 for anyone aged 13 and over. Seated tickets are priced at £70 and VIP tickets £175. More details will soon be available at gibraltarmusicfestival.com and on the event’s official Facebook page.

A limited number of ‘Early Bird’ tickets are available now at the reduced price of £40 from Music Corner and Vijay, both on Main Street.
