Jul 11 - Big Names Booked for Savannah Summer Festival
Returning once again for its third year, the Savannah Summer Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Savannah Director Orlando Yeats has joined forces with Daniel Guerrero of Elegance Events to produce this ‘unique one day festival for the community at large to enjoy’.
The event will include a set by Ibiza Bora Bora and Sankeys resident, Oliver Lang who also performed on the outdoor terrace last year. Famous Magaluf hotspot, BCM will also be presented at the daylong event, with up and coming Dustch DJ and producer Schella performing. His recent track Dear New York reached the heights of the Electro House Beatport Main Chart & has had massive support from producers such as Tiesto, Sander van Doorn.
This year, the organisers once again intend to create a Festival ambience, which will help ‘put Gibraltar on the map when it comes to events of this kind. Already we have had requests to buy tickets from people in UK and Spain. We believe festivals of this kind have lacked in Gibraltar now for some time and we are happy to be the local pioneers to offer it.’
Also performing at the festival, which boasts water features and a barbeque, will be BCM resident Chris Online and favourite from former years, Priscilla Due and Kuka Morales. Local acts Racs and Lima will play the role of supporting acts, along with Savannah resident Maniac.
Speaking on the event Daniel and Orlando noted, ‘the main idea behind this is to bring something new and fresh to Gibraltar. Outdoor festivals are a concept, which is common throughout summers all around the world. There are many locals who travel abroad to attend these festivals. So we thought why not having a festival of our own locally?
We have pulled out all the stops to bring people a top level of entertainment…. We have some of the best DJ’s in the world performing on the day plus the cream of local talent showcasing their skills.
Doors will open at 15.00 till late with an after party to be held at DUSK (Leisure Island, Ocean Village) starting at midnight once the outdoor event has finished. We would encourage everyone to come down to Ocean Village Leisure Island and give it a try, this kind of events do not happen very often in Gibraltar and it will certainly be a fun filled day to enjoy.
