I wrote an article about busking and begging on the streets of Gibraltar and how they are different. Encouraging busking and introducing licences and designated areas is something not only I but many other locals would support. However, the blemish remains of those that beg or pretend to busk. Basically these people are breaking the law. I had hoped that the right people had read or spoken about the aforementioned article and, despite a huge public response, it appears it wasn't.

my sick pocketed it Tonight sees the debut of My Sick Pocket at the Rock on the Rock Club. The band has been hard at work for several months but it wasn't until the past couple of weeks that they have established a serious online presence and in doing so have sparked an almost immediate interest from musicians and music lovers in Gibraltar. Fronted by Nicholas Hassan (bass & vocals), My Sick Pocket, it would be fair to say, is a continuation of the Mouth Of Bass solo project he had begun whilst living in the UK. He is joined by Paul Santos (ex-Paragon) on guitar and Adrian Pozo (Area52) on drums.

buskerAs my readers are well aware, I do love music. Whenever I'm travelling I'm drawn to the sounds of guitars, percussion and vocals even if they are in the narrowest of inner city corridors. I have one fond memory of walking aimlessly through Granada and stumbling across the best flamenco guitarist I have ever seen and I suppose, when I'm here in my home town, I want tourists to experience that too.
