The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia are currently in Brussels holding meetings with a number of representatives from the European Commission and European Parliament. They are accompanied by Attorney General Michael Llamas QC.
The Instituto de Estudios Campo-Gibraltareños in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, will be organising a conference on the history of Gibraltar and the Campo de Gibraltar this autumn, to be held at the John Mackintosh Hall.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, has argued that there is no conflict between being patriotic and British and being European at the same time. He warned that the United Kingdom and Gibraltar risk a period of economic and political limbo if the result of the Referendum on 23 June is to leave the European Union. Dr Garcia was addressing the Commonwealth Forum of the National Liberal Club in London last night while en route to Brussels.
The Gibraltar Ornithological and Natural History Society (GONHS) has said that conch rake fishing has recently taken place in Gibraltar waters, mainly on the Eastern side close to the shoreline, “without any apparent action by the authorities, despite the considerable maritime assets available to the RGP and the Department of the Environment.”
A second person has been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into a video posted on social media depicting an assault upon another person.
In an effort to raise funds in support of Mental Health Day, the Youth Service collaborated with Clubhouse Gibraltar for the second year running. The event was a great success with two cake stalls and the Youth Service DJs providing a day of entertainment on stage.
