The Defence Fire and Rescue Service this morning carried out a charity led, ‘hose pull’ along Main Street. Raising funds on behalf of the Citizens Advice Bureau’s ‘Improving Lives, Brick by Brick’ Campaign, the service deployed and recovered 70mm hoses from outside the ICC, up to the Convent.
Santa arrived in style at Ocean Village, Gibraltar this week. His trusty elf, Gloria announced Santa with a ringing bell and Disney’s Mickey and Minnie, accompanied him parading the length of The Promenade whilst throwing sweets to the children.
The Government is pleased to announce the return of the New Year’s Classical Music Concerts to the annual cultural calendar. The events will be organised for the Ministry of Culture by the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society in collaboration with Gibraltar Cultural Services.
The Ministry of Culture will organise as part of the ‘Christmas Spectacular,’ a series of exciting events, a ‘Winter Party in Town,’ to be held at Casemates Square on Saturday 20 December. John Mackintosh Square and Chatham Counterguard will also see a number of events during the day. The main event at Casemates Square will start 13.30 and is scheduled to finish at 20.00 (approx). The event has been carefully designed to make it a family day event for all to enjoy.
The Opposition says it notes the statement issued by Big Publications Limited last week in relation to its failure to generate anywhere near the amount of bus advertising revenue for the Bus Company that it proposed to generate back in 2012.

The Gibraltar Youth Service has started a new pilot project that aims to reach out to all young people from a cross section of our community. This is in line with the Government policy of listening to young people and giving them a voice on all issues that concern our society. The scheme has been opened to adult members from the Youth Advisory Council and representatives from other youth groups including various disadvantaged groups and the Unite the Union Youth Section that had previously had no representation in any youth forums.
