The Royal Gibraltar Regiment held a memorial football match in Devils Tower Camp today to honour their colleague Christian Wink.
Christian joined the Regiment in 1997 and was 22 years old when he lost his life in a road traffic accident whilst on deployment to Jebel Sahara in 2001.
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has said that the meeting of the Joint Ministerial Council in London this week has proved to be a “very useful forum” for Gibraltar. It has provided, he said, a framework for exchanging views with the United Kingdom and with the Governments of the different Overseas Territories.
The BBC’s Madrid correspondent, Tom Burridge, has revealed in an interview that he was asked by the Government of Gibraltar to change the wording used to refer to British Gibraltar Territorial Waters in his reports on the Gibraltar conflict over the summer.
The Government notes the statements made by the municipal authorities in Algeciras saying that the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, is not welcome in Algeciras.
The GSD say that the more they probe the Government about Credit Finance the more they are led to the conclusion that the Chief Minister is acting like a “cavalier risk taker” who is gambling with the future of Gibraltar.
