Nov 15 - Minister Linares Attends A Series Of Conferences In Malta
The Minister for Culture, the Media, Youth & Sport, Steven Linares, is travelling to Valleta, Malta to attend a series of conferences from the 16th – 24th November.
During the first part of his stay in Malta, the Minister will attend a high level conference hosted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and the Parliament of Malta. The conference promotes a better regional cooperation towards a smart and humane migration across the Mediterranean. The conference aims to bring together parliamentarians from the region in order to dis- cuss concerted responses to current migration challenges and opportunities.
Later during the week Minister Linares will attend The Commonwealth Local Government Forum under the banner of “Fit for the Future”. The conference will look into the strategies for boosting the local government’s resource base and capacity to improve performance, governance and service delivery, ensuring it is fit for purpose to meet the demands of the future. The conference will be officially opened by the Prime Minister of Malta and Chairperson in office of the Commonwealth, Joseph Muscat.
