Jan 04 - Australian MP Visits Gibraltar

An Australian politician is visiting Gibraltar this week to familiarise himself with the Rock and learn about Gibraltar.

Walter Secord, the MP for the Australian Labor Party for New South Wales, visited the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia in Number Six this morning.

Echoing the words of Alexander Downer AC, the Australian High Commissioner to the UK, he said Gibraltarians have the support from all Australians in determining their political future.

Mr Secord has met with other local MPs as well as community groups, and has shown an interest in the multicultural and tolerant society in Gibraltar.
