Apr 10 - GSD To Celebrate 30 Year Anniversary At Tomorrow’s AGM

The GSD will be holding its AGM and Public Meeting tomorrow Thursday at 7pm at the john Mackintosh Hall. The party says that all are welcome - both members and non-members.

As 2019 is the Party’s 30th anniversary year the meeting will include a screening of a short 15-minute film commemorating the 30 years and featuring interviews with previous leaders including Sir Peter Caruana and Peter Montegriffo.

The meeting will also have contributions from all MPs on diverse subjects such as employment, health, drugs, education, public finances and the environment among other topics.

The meeting will also consider three Motions on means testing in housing, the tax treaty with Spain and the law on abortion.

GSD Leader Keith Azopardi will close the meeting.

Mr Azopardi said: “We encourage all members to attend on this special year for the Party. It is our 30th anniversary year so we will screen a short film reflecting on the last 30 years. This Party has a proud history and strength in depth that has been reflected in its growth and track record over the last three decades. Members can be justly proud of their support for the Social Democrats and its core values which endure and will continue. The Meeting will also feature talks and the explanation of our ideas on a number of topical issues. The Meeting is open to members of the public in this special election year.”
